Mississauga, August 27, 2019 – Vivariant Laboratories Inc. – (the “Company” or “Vivariant”) is pleased to announce it has received a license for Analytical Testing of cannabis from Health Canada.
“Today, after a 14-month journey, we have become a Health Canada licensed cannabis testing laboratory. I am proud to share this accomplishment with everyone and owe it all to the hard work and dedication of our team and the support of our investors.” President Thomas Fraleigh said on Tuesday.
“When we applied for regulatory approval in June 2018, Health Canada committed to a processing time that should have ended in March 2019. The 5 months since have been a period of much uncertainty for us. Despite the delay, we decided to move forward on generating our quality management system, placing equipment orders and initiating method validations. Despite not knowing when the license would arrive, we have been preparing for this moment for months. We will begin selling our testing services for THC and CBD (“Potency”) in cannabis products shortly with the remainder of the tests coming online in H1 2020”.
Health Canada requires that licensed cannabis producers perform a number of complex laboratory tests on each batch of product as quality control. These tests include potency, pesticides, heavy metals, mycotoxins, moisture, and several tests for microbes. Cannabis itself is a complex natural product with a variety of active compounds of interest. Vivariant offers testing as a service to support cannabis producers to meet regulatory requirements and to create better products.
Vivariant is Analytical Testing license holder # GWGAMP8617 and is headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario
