Selling Natural Health Products or Dietary Supplements on Amazon? In December of 2020, Amazon implemented rigorous quality specifications for Dietary Supplements and Natural Health Products sold on its platform.

Among the requirements for Dietary Supplements, sellers must submit a Certificate of Analysis (COA) from a third-party, ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory such as Vivariant. Certificate of Analysis documents must meet the following requirements:

Some additional safety tests manufacturers should consider include heavy metals, microbial pathogens, and pH. Health Canada lists limits for heavy metals like cadmium, arsenic, lead, and mercury and also limits the concentration of antimony in topical cosmetics & NHPs. Microbial testing should also be performed including total aerobic plate count, total yeast and molds and pathogens including Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, E. coli, and Salmonella, depending on the product format and route of administration.

We at Vivariant are here to help you comply with Amazon’s (COA) requirements. Contact us at our state-of-the-art laboratory in Mississauga, ON to learn more.
