Vivariant was founded in 2017 to meet the growing need for cannabis quality control testing in Canada. Since then, we’ve expanded our area of expertise to include the Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics, Natural Health Products and Dietary Supplement industries. We specialize in analytical chemistry and microbiology testing services using a state-of-the-art suite of technologies. Conveniently located five kilometers north of Pearson International Airport, in Mississauga, ON, our diverse and capable team consistently provides precise and accurate results, on time, using validated methods.
We hold various licenses & accreditation as part of our quality system including an Analytical Testing license under Health Canada’s Cannabis Regulations, ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation by CALA, Containment Level 2 (CL2) Pathogen and Toxin License from the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), and a Drug Establishment Licence (DEL) which allows us to test Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and Pharmaceutical products.

Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
As of June 2022, Vivariant is licensed by Health Canada with a Drug Establishment License (DEL). To test pharmaceutical products, a laboratory must be accredited to GMP standards. This is an internationally accepted system for ensuring products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standards. The DEL is an accreditation from Health Canada that our quality system is appropriate for GMP pharmaceutical testing. GMP practices are also followed in other industries including cannabis, cosmetics, food, and natural health products/dietary supplements.
ISO/IEC 17025
Vivariant is ISO/IEC 17025 accredited by Canada Association of Laboratory Accreditation (CALA). ISO/IEC 17025 is useful for any organization that performs testing, and wants reliable results. It is the international standard for which labs are accredited to be recognized as technically competent, impartial, and consistent in their operations.
